October Unprocessed Food Challenge

One of my friends shared a great post this morning.
It came from eatingrules.com

It is a challenge for the month of October to eat unprocessed food.



I sat and read the article on the website while eating a microwave dinner I had just picked up at the grocery store.

Very seldom do I eat these things but I was just to lazy to cook something myself.

I have tried to cut down on anything that comes out of a can or box, but lately I feel like I have fallen off the wagon.

Camper living tends to make us eat out more as well.

My pants have become tighter from picking up a few little extra treats from each visit to the store.

I am ready for a change!
I am ready for a challenge!
I am ready to start putting healthy things back into my body!

I will be posting in October how my challenge is going.

  1. Do you have a fire ring or grill at your campsite? You can make all types of good food (not quickly though). We have been trying to stay away from processed foods for awhile now. I guess that's why I raise meat chickens now, and get our own eggs from our chickens. Same with our dairy goat milk. I get many recipes from Clean Eating (magazine, but has an on-line site) and Eating Well.

    1. We eat pretty healthy most of the time. I just feel like things have got a little laid back. Time to get back with the program. I do read Clean Eating from our library.

  3. Now that fall is here I have been planning to get back to some basics and using more grains.

    1. I try to limit our processed foods as well, but would like to eliminate them for good if possible. Should be an interesting month! lol..
