The calender says spring is here.
But I am not so sure Mother Nature has noticed!
It is still quite cold and damp in northern Illinois.
Even some traces of snow in the fields around the house.
The beagle is ready for some warm weather too!
Things to do while we wait.
Little man has been helping grandma decorate for Easter.
I have found some of my Easter things that have been packed away.
Still searching for the rest.
I am hosting Easter dinner this year.
Looking through my recipe boxes and pinterest for some new ideas.
I am still working on unpacking totes and boxes from the move.
(will I ever be done?)
But I am really looking forward to going outside.
Lots of landscape work needs to be done.
The spot for the new garden needs to be picked.
But so far all spring has meant is this,
Have a great weekend!
Liz
The snow is almost melted but it is still cold here. Tomorrow 29!!!
ReplyDeleteMy girls spent last Saturday cleaning the yard. It was not much fun!
Spring yard work sucks! Nothing but mud and dog poo!!
DeleteAlthough we have been snowless for a long time, it has been very cold. We still make a fire in the wood stove each morning and each evening. The yard work is still waiting in our yard, due to the cold. But we too are ready to dig in and get things started. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteOur snow finally melted! I didn't think the piles would ever melt away. The firewood supply sure has been hit hard this season!
DeleteHa ha ha... yeah, I bet your dog is ready for spring!! I might have had a similar experience with my cats after weeks of rain. But Spring is in full swing here and it is a lot easier to get out and about and take care of the yard. Hope it warms up soon.
ReplyDeleteGlad somebody is enjoying spring weather! Fingers crossed it will arrive in our parts soon!
DeleteThis may be TMI - however, applies to you post...you know all the snow we have...we have 2 dogs who love do "do their business" on the side of the garage. I have to walk around that side to fill the bird feeder. With the softer snow - I fell - of course, in the softer poo....WAAA...at least I had mittens on.
ReplyDeleteUGH!!! That sounds like something I would do! lol....
DeleteOh, I had to laugh at this post. Our 13yo pitbull mix was so cold this winter he would poo in the driveway. We are finally finding all that, along with all the trash people threw in our yard.
ReplyDeleteI am getting ready to walk the ditches to pick up all of the trash. That is my biggest pet peeve, littering!
DeleteHa!!! I love that quote up there!!!! So true! And how cute is your little man and his decorating skills! Love the bunnies in the jars! And isn't this just nuts...I tell you...this weather is really starting to wear on me! I can not wait for those days where the sun is warm on our backs and we are working in the garden! You have a great week friend! Nicole xo
ReplyDeleteI bet you are going nuts waiting! You have so many spectacular plans for your yard. I can't wait to see what you do!! Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your week!!
DeleteOh how I can't wait for Spring to truly arrive either. Can't wait to garden!! :)
ReplyDeleteI am so ready to start digging in the dirt instead of looking out the window, staring at the bare garden!
DeleteSpring does seem slow in coming this year. My neighbor and I were just talking about "cleaning the yards" the other day-- funny postcard!
ReplyDeleteIt sure has been slow! I just hope it doesn't go straight to summer!
