I am so glad I picked a big bouquet of
lilacs yesterday,
because today they look like this
Yes, thats snow!
When I got up this morning it was a slow, steady rain falling.
But it soon turned into big, fluffy flakes.
Some of the biggest flakes I have ever seen!
It didn't take long for the ground to become covered in
a blanket of white.
A peek out front.
Can you believe this is May weather?
Look what it did to my May flowers.
I guess the yard wont get mowed today!
Liz
Oh no! I am putting of planting too much because I anticipate another frost. But snow? Yikes.
ReplyDeleteSo glad I don't have my garden in yet! They are calling for frost tonight.
DeleteThank goodness ours was just rain and 48 degrees right now. Wow! Not the kind of May weather I like. lol
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your plants.
It was 80 here on Sunday! Only in Illinois! lol...
DeleteI think I'd cry if that happened to my lilacs but you seem to have an upbeat attitude about it, especially the not mowing the lawn part. That wouldn't break my heart at all!
ReplyDeleteOh I have learned not to get upset with Mother Nature, she does what she wants! lol..
DeleteOMG! Well, not only will you not mow the yard, you won't weed the flower beds.........
ReplyDeleteThat was on my list too!
DeleteI heard there was some nasty snow up north, just miserable cold rain downstate!
ReplyDeleteRain, snow its all been miserable! Lets hope for some warm sunshine soon!
DeleteOh Liz!!!! Isn't this just yucky!!! I can barely stand it! I am trying to think how far you are from the city because though it is cold up here we missed all of that snow. Who knows!! Here is to sunny skies and warm weather eh?!? Happy weekend pal! Nicole xo
ReplyDeleteWe are about 60 miles west of the city. But at my daughters house, 10 miles away, no snow! I am with you on the warm weather, please hurry! lol... Have a wonderful weekend yourself Nicole!
DeleteOh YUK!
ReplyDeleteI hope that isn't on the way over here! It is colder. Frost advisory for tonight.
ReplyDeleteYuk is right!! We are under a frost advisory as well. Will spring ever arrive for good?
DeleteI'm stunned ... I just can't look at white anymore this year. Let's hope it all melts quickly and your temperatures move up again. Poor little flowers. I have bright sunshine streaming through my front window at the moment, but all around us are black ominous clouds ... the contrast is spectacular!! I'll send a little sunshine through to you ;) Wendy x
ReplyDeleteI thought the white stuff was gone until at least fall!! It has pretty much melted off thankfully!
DeleteOh, I hope that is the last of the snow for you. We didn't get any here but we have had frost warnings out the last several nights. It's supposed to warm up tomorrow though. Let's hope.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope so too! Never imagined we would see snow in the middle of May! Just hoping we get some spring before it skips straight to summer!
DeleteLiz
Strange weather this year. we were concerned about a frost last night after everything has been planted.
ReplyDeleteLots of frost warnings the last couple of nights. Where did spring go?
DeleteCrazy weather patterns - snow in your area and temperatures 20 degrees higher than normal in my area. My flowers don't know what season it is!
ReplyDeleteThankfully it was all melted by night fall! Just glad I didn't have my garden planted yet! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteLiz
well isn't that something! My goodness!! We've been close to freezing temp's at night but haven't actually had one in about a week and a half. And thankfully we haven't seen snow in about a month. Fingers crossed your warmer spring weather returns. :)
ReplyDeleteI had just thought the day before, I am so glad we wont see snow again until at least November! Woops! It was a beautiful spring day yesterday. The snow is already a distant memory! lol...
